ACCOMMODATION
JPS provides a range of accommodation options as follows:
Respite/Short Term Accommodation (STA)
We offer multiple STA options so there is sure to be one to suit you!
Whether you are looking to build your independent living skills, want a holiday, or need support while your regular carers are away, we have an option to suit you.
Depending on your funding, we can offer individual or group options for your stay.
With options for a stay close to home where you focus on building your independence, we can provide you with a stay in a home where we support you to improve your day-to-day skills like cooking, budgeting, and household tasks.
If it’s a holiday you want, we can support you to take a trip out of town where you can visit new places and experience new things. This could be a trip to the footy finals, visiting a theme park, or exploring museums, whale watching, fishing, or mountain climbing. The choice is yours!
Medium Term Accommodation (MTA)
MTA is an important option for people who are waiting for their long-term accommodation to become available.
MTA provides a stable and supportive living environment for an extended period of time (usually up to 90 days). MTA can assist in a smooth transition into your long-term accommodation whilst building your independent living skills.
We offer MTA options, providing tailored support that caters to your needs and supports you to achieve your goals. These individualised plans can include overnight supports if you need them.
To be eligible for MTA funding, you must be able to show that you have somewhere to move into at the end of the MTA funding.
If you have MTA funding, we can work with you to arrange supports during this time, that will assist you to work towards independence and living in your own home.
Support Independent Living (SIL)
We have a number of SIL properties across Brisbane and Moreton Bay, both shared and independent dwellings. Our SIL accommodations offer spacious living and sleeping areas, accessible bathrooms and kitchens and well maintained, inviting, outdoor areas.
We specialise in providing SIL support services for people with intellectual, physical and psychosocial disabilities and will tailor a support plan to fit your individual needs.
SIL support includes day to day support around the home with things such as:
Cooking
Cleaning and household tasks
Budgeting and paying bills
Personal Care and maintaining hygiene
Meal planning and doing groceries
It also covers some supports outside the home such as:
Accessing public transport
Attending appointments
Attending social activities
Maintaining friendships and important relationships
Our highly trained support workers will assist you to be as independent as possible in every aspect of your day-to-day life. While we recognise that you are the leader of your own life, we will always be there to offer support when you need it. This includes either awake or inactive overnight shifts.
Individualised Living Options (ILO)
Individualised Living Options (ILO) is support to live life the way you want to live. You choose who you live with and the type of support you want. That may be living with housemates and sharing support when you identify you need it. Or it could be living with an informal support person and just having a support worker drop in at important times of the day.
ILO are flexible support packages that are fully customisable to suit your needs. ILO offers you the freedom to choose how and where you want to live and the support that you want.
ILO offers you the opportunity to live independently, with support how and when you need it. We can assist you to build a support package that fits your lifestyle and is tailored to assist you to reach your goals.
